Once your equipment is equipped with a lubrication pump, after the pump has been running for a while, you will notice that a layer of oil film forms on the surfaces of parts like bearings, gears, or other moving components.Lubrication pumps can effectively reduce wear. This reduces direct contact between metal surfaces. Moreover, lubricating oil can also reduce heat, especially for high-speed components such as bearings or lead screw sliders, preventing damage. These components are generally deep within the equipment, not easily noticed, and difficult to replace or repair. The presence of lubrication pumps improves the durability of equipment and relieves the pressure on maintenance personnel. Some of our customers have reported that their equipment has gone as long as 10 years without needing repairs. This significantly reduces the overall operating costs of a business. Previously, equipment without lubrication pumps required experienced maintenance personnel to select the appropriate oil and could only be serviced when the equipment was shut down. Hence, more and more customers are choosing lubrication pumps with a high degree of automation.

Tipos de Bombas de Lubrificação

Lubrication pumps can be categorized by their drive mechanism into manual, electric, and pneumatic types. If categorized by medium, they can be divided into pumps for motor oil and pumps for grease. Manual lubrication pumps typically have a handle or lever. Their structure is generally plunger-type; pulling or pressing the handle delivers lubricating oil to the lubrication points. Their advantages include easy installation and simple construction, making them suitable for situations with low lubrication requirements. Electric lubrication pumps are generally driven by motors, most commonly using gear pumps. They deliver a set amount of lubricating oil to the lubrication points based on a preset time, without the need for operator supervision. Pneumatic lubrication pumps mainly provide power to pistons or diaphragms, drawing lubricating oil from the storage tank and delivering it to the lubrication points. For lubricating oil systems, compressed air is often used to atomize the oil before injecting it into high-speed bearings. Overall, pneumatic lubrication pumps are increasingly used in equipment requiring high pressure and flow rates. When selecting a lubrication pump, we generally consider the operating parameters of the machinery, whether the system is heavy-duty or light-duty, and the number of lubrication points to choose the appropriate lubrication pump to improve the reliability, efficiency, and lifespan of the equipment. Lubricating oil commonly used has a viscosity of #40-#100, while for heavy loads, lubricating grease of #0-#2 is typically chosen.

Principais componentes das bombas de lubrificação

Lubrication pumps generally consist of a pump head (the core component), oil tank, pressure relief valve, safety valve, and controller. Gear lubrication pumps use gear pumps, while piston-type lubrication pumps use plunger pumps. The motor and pump head are typically connected by a mounting bracket. The volumetric efficiency of our gear pump is approximately 60-70%. Transparent oil tanks are usually made of AS or PC materials. Common sizes are 1L, 2L, 3L, and 4L. For special applications, we may use metal oil tanks with capacities ranging from 10L to 100L. The working pressure of motor oil lubrication pumps is generally set at around 2.5Mpa-4Mpa, while grease pumps are set at around 30Mpa. Safety valves and check valves are typically installed to ensure system stability. Customers increasingly prefer lubrication pumps with controllers. Controllers allow the lubrication pump to operate automatically according to a set schedule. If there is a lack of oil or abnormal pressure, the system will automatically alert the operator.

Aplicação de bombas de lubrificação

The use of lubrication pumps in various fields effectively maintains smooth operation and extends the service life of equipment. Their application in these fields significantly improves mechanical efficiency and equipment lifespan while reducing maintenance costs. More and more construction machinery, due to their harsh operating environments, have lubrication points that are difficult to reach with grease. Automatic lubrication pumps ensure the good performance of critical components and their reliability in harsh conditions. If used in machine tools, lubrication pumps can ensure the precision of the equipment. In glass equipment, they can ensure 24-hour continuous operation. In wood processing equipment, they can extend the lifespan of the machinery. Heavy vehicles, including material handling vehicles and agricultural machinery, use heavy-duty lubrication systems with grease pumps, often dual-line lubrication oil pumps, to ensure stable operation under high loads and extreme conditions. Lubrication pumps can keep chains and gears running smoothly, reducing wear and tear.

Como instalar a bomba de lubrificação correta?

Installing the right lubrication pump is a key step in ensuring normal operation and maintenance of equipment. Lubrication pumps usually come with mounting holes for easy fixation by manufacturers considering installation positions. It is generally recommended to install the lubrication pump in a location that is easy to observe and access, allowing for convenient addition of grease and routine inspections. During installation, connect the lubrication pump to each lubrication point through pipes, ensuring that the connections are secure and leak-free to ensure the efficient operation of the lubrication system. When commissioning the lubrication pump, operators should follow the installation guide provided by the manufacturer, carefully checking all connection points and lubrication points. Ensure that each lubrication point receives enough grease to avoid equipment failure due to insufficient lubrication. Regularly checking and maintaining the lubrication pump and its connecting pipes further ensures the stable operation and extended service life of the equipment.

Manutenção e solução de problemas

In terms of daily maintenance, the upkeep of lubrication pumps mainly includes the following aspects: First, the selection of lubricating oil should follow the manufacturer’s recommendations for the type of lubricating oil and replacement intervals. Regularly check the oil level of the lubrication pump to ensure the quality and quantity of lubricating oil meet requirements. Second, regularly check the pressure of the lubrication pump to ensure it is working properly and providing sufficient lubricating oil pressure. Also, check the entire lubrication system for any signs of leakage, and promptly address any leakage issues to prevent wastage of lubricating oil and damage to equipment. When the lubrication pump is not pumping oil, first check the pressure of the lubrication pump. If there is no pressure, consider replacing the pump head, as it may have worn out or been damaged, preventing normal operation. Next, check the entire system for any leaks or blockages, which could affect the flow of lubricating oil and cause the lubrication pump to fail in supplying oil. Timely detection and resolution of these issues can ensure the normal operation of the lubrication pump and secure the stable operation of the equipment. We are also developing new lubrication pumps for the modern era, which can be monitored and controlled wirelessly through a mobile app, achieving automated applications. Our smart lubrication pumps and their control systems have already begun to be applied in the steel industry. We equip the controllers of the lubrication pumps with wireless modules, so if the system is short of oil or blocked, we will notify the customer’s duty room immediately.
